XS Concept

Originated from a series of sketches created years ago, evolving into a personal interpretation of a hydrogen-powered SUV with retro-futuristic influences. Rather than pursuing conventional commercial aesthetics, the project embraces a more expressive and uncompromising design language, reflecting my own creative vision.

I enjoyed pushing proportions and exaggerating selected design elements while maintaining a clean, minimalist aesthetic. The interior eliminates traditional physical controls in favor of touch-sensitive displays guided by semiotic principles, prioritizing intuitive symbols over text-heavy interfaces.

While the exterior emphasizes bold industrial forms, the interior adopts a softer, more organic character. A dynamic lighting system, which I named Mood Fog, visualizes the vehicle's "circulatory system" through subtle pulses of light that respond to the driver's emotional state. Beyond strengthening the emotional connection between driver and vehicle, it also serves as a visual communication and safety feature.

Additional concepts include a roof that transitions from transparent to opaque and illuminated non-rotating wheel covers functioning as LED displays.

The XS Concept was featured on several automotive platforms, including carbodydesign.com, promotor.ro and national TV stations.
